Living with health challenges means experiencing the ups and downs of diagnoses and symptoms in a body that we can’t swap out. There’s no escaping this body. And there’s something very humbling about that fact.
So, since our bodies are here with us for the long haul… what would it look like to invite them to join us in friendship for this wild ride?
It’s common to think of our bodies as “good” or “bad” or even try not to think about them altogether. Many of us haven’t been taught what it would look like to create conscious, loving partnerships with our bodies. So there’s something powerful about throwing the “good” and “bad” labels out and inviting our bodies to be our friends.
In Episode 55, Michelle Horton shared, “There was a point where I really shifted from thinking that my body was working against me or betraying me in some way… to realizing that my body was working with me to overcome this health challenge. That was such a transformational shift or reframe to have; it's a ‘we.’ We're doing this together. We are navigating how to get through these challenges together. And that took some time.”
Join Michelle and Lauren for a continuation of this powerful discussion as we reflect and share insights and stories about our own highs and lows in relationship with our bodies and the health challenges they experience.
