Workshop Overview

As therapists, we spend a lot of our time taking care of others. Burnout rates are high in the helping professions and often we neglect to take time to care for ourselves.

When living with chronic illness, the need to focus on one's own well-being is particularly important to ensure a sustainable practice where you as a therapist can also flourish alongside your clients.

Dr. Hayley Quinn will highlight the importance of compassion for therapists as human beings who also suffer. In this workshop, you will learn about the three flows of compassion; have time to reflect on your own needs; recognize your fears, blocks and resistances to compassion and self care; and look at how you can take care of yourself in a deep and meaningful way.

There will be opportunity to engage in discussion and also be guided in a nourishing meditation.

This workshop will be recorded and available for 30 days following the event.

YOU WILL BE ABLE TO

1. Describe the three flows of compassion

2. Identify your fears, blocks and resistances to compassion and self-care

3. List 3 self-care actions

4. Apply mindfulness and compassionate mind exercises in everyday life

5. Create an individualized self-care plan
